Prayer for path to be opened

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Good morning my friends,

The effort to get help in to our loved ones in Haiti continues......with many frustrating turns. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Dr Karen McCarthy, we now have a plane, medical teams, medicines, supplies, search and rescue workers and relief funds ready to go but we are hitting brick walls in our efforts to get a clearance to land in Port-au-Prince from the State Department. As you know, there is quite a back up on the airfield. PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WILL OPEN THE PATH FOR US TO GET THIS HELP IN TO OUR PEOPLE NOW. Please ask your church friends to join us in our prayers for continued safety and provision for these precious people. Time is critical now, and we MUST get help into them.

Attached are pictures of the two people we lost during the quake from Sherry Fausey's location. One child - Peterson - did not make it out of the building during the quake. There is a moving tribute to him on the blog of Jennifer Hambrick who recently spent time with him in Port-au-Prince. http://thehambrickfamily.blogspot.com/
Sherrie's secretary , CHANTAL HYPOLITE, was killed in her own home during the quake. These were precious souls that knew the Lord and were always there to lend a helping hand to our mission teams. May they be at rest in the arms of our Lord.

Word from inside Port-au-Prince continues to trickle in. Great fear, gratitude, danger, and need are intermingled. They have no idea how bad the situation really is all over Haiti. As I watch the rescue efforts, I weep and then thank God for all the blessings in my life. It seems that the only place I can find consoling is in the Word of God. It is then that God reminds me that He is still in control.

Thank you for your prayers.

Donna
